1. DFG-ANR-FOODMETCH: Das Food Metabolom als neues Konzept zur Erhebung der Ernährungsexposition bei Kindern

Bis heute wurden wenige Biomarker der Ernährung speziell für Kinder validiert, obwohl es schwierig ist die Ernährung bei Kindern mit Fragebögen zu erheben. Das aktuelle Projekt beabsichtigt daher das Food Metabolom - als Gesamtheit aller niedermolekularen Biomarker der Ernährung - in Urinproben zweier europäischer Kinderkohorten zu untersuchen, um neue Biomarker der Ernährung zu identifizieren, deren Variabilität zu untersuchen sowie deren Zusammenhang mit Gesundheitsendpunkten zu erforschen. Das FOODMETCH Projekt basiert auf den etablierten Kinderkohorten IDEFICS/I.Family und DONALD mit einzigartigen Langzeitdaten. Mehr als 2000 Urinproben von Kindern und Jugendlichen werden mittels Massenspektrometrie (Untargeted Metabolomics) am IARC in Lyon analysiert. Fokus dieser Studie sind dabei Biomarker für Obst und Gemüse, süße und fettige Snacks sowie süße Getränke, die mit Adipositas bei Kindern zusammenhängen.

2. Ernährungsbildung und Gestaltung gesunder Ernährungsumgebungen – Eine Bestands- und Bedarfsanalyse für Grundschulen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (ERNi-MV)

Das Ziel dieser Studie ist es, den Bestand und Bedarf an ernährungsbezogenen Bildungsangeboten sowie an der Gestaltung gesunder Ernährungsumgebungen im Setting Grundschule im Bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (M-V) anhand von Schulleitungsbefragungen zu untersuchen und daraus Handlungsempfehlungen zur Entwicklung  gesundheitsförderlicher Konzepte mit Schwerpunkt Ernährung für Grundschulen in M-V zu generieren. Im Rahmen eines Pilotprojekts ist unsere Studierende der Diätetik und staatl. geprüfte Diätassistentin Laura Hartmann zudem aktiv vor Ort und bietet im Schuljahr 2022/23 individuelle und praxisnahe Ernährungsprojekte an ausgewählten Grundschulen im Landkreis Mecklenburgische Seenplatte an.
