Health insurance


In accordance with § 199a SGB V, the university and health insurance companies are obliged to notify each other in order to properly check, determine and implement health insurance for students. The electronic reporting procedure was introduced on 1 January 2021. Therefore, notifications in paper form can no longer be accepted.

Applicants:

We require an electronic notification of your insurance status from your health insurance company at the latest at the time of enrolment. Please contact your health insurance company so that they can send us the required notification electronically.

If you are insured with a private health insurance company at the beginning of your studies, please contact any statutory health insurance company, which will confirm the existence of private insurance to us digitally.

Students

Students who are already enrolled do not need to pay attention to the changeover for the time being. The change will only affect you as soon as you change health insurance provider, for example.

Students who change their health insurance company

If you change your health insurance company, we need an electronic notification of the change from your new health insurance company. Please contact your health insurance company so that they can send us the required notification electronically.
