Centre for Information and Media Technology (ZIMT)

The ZIMT is a central operating unit which has emerged from the multimedia and centralised data processing departments. The ZIMT is responsible for tasks relating to digital information processing and technical communication and for the deployment of new multimedia technologies in courses, teaching, research and administration.

Five centralised PC’s are available for use by students and staff. Selected specialist applications for the various faculties are available alongside the standardised software which has been installed.

Lecture theatres are equipped with state-of-the-art conferencing technology, and mobile presentation technology may be borrowed. The existing video conferencing technology enables those connected with the university to communicate with partners at home and abroad.

The video library offers an extensive collection of films and documentaries for teaching purposes.
