The Rectorate manages the university and is responsible for all university matters for which the LHG M-V or the Basic Regulations of 2 December 2015 do not expressly stipulate a different responsibility. The Rectorate fulfils its duties as a collegial body. It reports to the Senate annually and at its request on the fulfilment of its duties.
The Extended Senate elects the members of the Rectorate and discusses the fundamental matters of the university.
The total of 24 voting members are appointed by election. They are made up of the members of the Senate elected in accordance with Section 10 (6) of the Basic Regulations of Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences dated 2 December 2015 as well as those group representatives who are required to complete the body - in accordance with their voting share in the election to the Senate. Each term of office is two years. Re-election is permitted. The term of office for representatives of the student group is one year.
The other tasks are regulated in the Basic Regulations (GrO) of Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences dated 02.12.2015.

The Senate decides on the statutes of the university, in particular the examination and study regulations as well as the other statutes and regulations of the university, insofar as they are not to be issued by the departments. The Senate gives its opinion on the regulations of the departments. It must be consulted before establishing, amending or abolishing departments, organisational subdivisions or degree programmes. The student body must be consulted before the Senate adopts examination regulations.
The 15 voting members of the Senate are appointed by election. Each term of office is two years. Re-election is permitted. The term of office for student representatives is one year.

On 25 May 1992, the city council of Neubrandenburg decided to establish a university committee. As a committee of the city council, it is a forum that promotes dialogue between the university and the city of Neubrandenburg and deals with issues of mutual interest.
Important projects of the university in the cultural field and urgent plans, e.g. the university's building development plans, are supported and accelerated by the committee.
The University Committee is made up of representatives of the city administration, the chairmen of the political groups represented in the city parliament and members of the university.

Mrs Lenzner from SIS - Schweriner IT- und Servicegesellschaft mbH, based in Schwerin, is the external data protection officer for the University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg.
The employees of Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences can contact the data protection officer directly in all matters relating to the protection of their data.
The data protection officer has the task of monitoring the university in the implementation of the State Data Protection Act and other regulations on data protection and to provide advice on implementation.
She may request information and inspect files and records insofar as this is necessary to fulfil her duties.
The Senate elects the Representative for Abstention of the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. The term of office is two years. Re-election is permitted.
The Disability Representative represents the interests of disabled university members within the university, insofar as they are not represented by the Disabled Persons' Representative Council.
In particular, she is involved in the planning and organisation of teaching and study conditions for members and affiliates of the university in order to eliminate disadvantages for people with disabilities. To this end, it can participate in the university committees in an advisory capacity (§ 89 LHG M-V, § 17 Grundordnung HS NB). Important topics are the accessibility of the university and the teaching and examination conditions of disabled students.
The Disability Officer can also advise on contact with rehabilitation organisations, insofar as benefits for participation are required for the course of study.
The Equal Opportunities Officer of the university and her deputy are elected on the basis of the Equal Opportunities Act M-V and confirmed by the university management. The term of office is four years. The Equal Opportunities Officer advises the Rectorate with regard to the goal of a "family-friendly university". She attends meetings of the Rectorate, the Extended Rectorate, the Rectorate committees, the Academic Senate and the University Assembly in an advisory capacity.
