The 2025 ideas competition at our university
Your innovative ideas are valuable! Take part now!
Do you have an idea for an innovative product, a technical solution, a charitable project or a service? Perhaps you want to secure this idea, commercialise it or even turn it into a business start-up? Apply to
inspired. The ideas competition. In MV!
All Neubrandenburg residents are now invited to submit their ideas. There are great cash and non-cash prizes up for grabs: Prizes can be won for the first and second place winners, as well as the special prize for social ideas. You can take part in the categories "Students and trainees" and "Researchers, graduates and external participants".
Taking part in the ideas competition is also worthwhile beyond the prizes! The individual experience of creating the competition concepts prepares you for the utilisation of your ideas. Your submitted concepts can be used as the basis for an application for an EXIST start-up grant, EXIST research transfer or even for the state start-up grant. We also offer attractive events, seminars and workshops (such as the Berlin Valley Tour or the intensive workshop "RockIt-Week") as part of the competition.
It doesn't take much effort: to begin with, all you need to do is name your idea in one sentence. In the second step, the idea is then formulated as a competition-ready concept based on a Word template (approx. 5 pages). We will be happy to give you regular feedback. You can find the registration form and information on the conditions of participation, prizes and deadlines on the following pages.
It goes without saying that all competition entries for this EU-funded project will be treated confidentially.
You can also find the latest information on Instagram. We look forward to exciting projects and innovative ideas!
You can find more information about the competition and reviews of previous competition rounds at: ideenwettbewerb-mv.de

Our winners in the state-wide ideas competition in Rostock 2024
We are delighted to have won two places in the state-wide Ideas Competition 2024 in Rostock!
The winners from the competitions in Rostock, Greifswald, Stralsund, Wismar and Neubrandenburg will present their ideas to a high-ranking jury of experienced entrepreneurs, professors and political representatives. The state-wide winners were selected by an independent jury on 18 July 2024 in the main building of the University of Rostock. The subsequent award ceremony took place in the auditorium of the main building.
Once again this year, the most original business ideas and pioneering research results from the state's universities and colleges were honoured. The aim of the competition, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Health of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is to identify innovative technologies and ideas at universities and research institutions and to support them not only with financial resources, but also with valuable contacts, intensive coaching and important experience.
We would like to congratulate all the winners of the competition and would like to highlight the winners from our university:

This year, the jury was once again able to read exciting idea concepts and the participants presented themselves and their ideas in short presentations. Points were awarded according to criteria of innovation, feasibility and potential, but customer benefit and the individual motivation of the participants also played an important role. In the end, five ideas were honoured with non-cash and cash prizes. We would like to congratulate the winners of this year's ideas competition in Neubrandenburg!

Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences is planning to organise the ideas competition again next year. Information on this can be found on our website: http://www.hs-nb.de/ideenwettbewerb
The aim of the "inspired" ideas competition is to identify innovative technologies and ideas from the state and to support them not only with financial resources, but also with valuable contacts, intensive coaching and important experience. In the summer, the most original business ideas and pioneering research results from our university were presented as part of the ideas competition. The participants in the internal university competition presented their ideas to a jury of entrepreneurs and academics. The first and second place winners from the "Students" and "Researchers & Graduates" categories then competed in the state-wide ideas competition in Rostock.
In addition, the special prize for social ideas was once again up for grabs. The proposal for a special prize for social ideas arose from the fact that every year, ideas are submitted by students and researchers that are very good, relevant and innovative, but have little chance in the nationwide competition, where profitability rather than charitable status is assessed. With the introduction of the special prize, it is precisely these ideas that are to be honoured and brought to the fore.

Review 2020
Since 2013, students and researchers at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences have been invited to submit innovative ideas to the "inspired" ideas competition. In a two-stage process, the jury, which consists of university members, entrepreneurs from the city and one representative each from the city administration and the Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft gGmbH, evaluates the participants' written concepts on the one hand and their short presentations on the other. Once again this year, the jury was presented with a wide variety of innovative concepts, meaning that it was often not easy for the judges to make their judgements. The decision was made on 9 June 2020 and the winners are:
Students:
1st place: Anonymous participant 1: SGB8 navigator
2nd place: Paul Netzel, Lars Krychowski: Alzheimer's Youth Advisory Board
Researchers:
1st place: Anonymous participant 2, Ralf Reuters: Team PHAGUS

Review 2017

The best start-up ideas from science have been honoured
On 12 July 2017, the most original business ideas and pioneering research results from the universities and colleges in the state of Greifswald, Schwerin, Wismar, Stralsund, Neubrandenburg and Rostock were awarded prizes as part of the "inspired" ideas competition on Warnemünde beach. The aim of the competition, which is sponsored by the M-V Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Health, is to identify innovative technologies and ideas at universities and research institutions and to support them not only with financial resources, but also with valuable contacts, intensive coaching and important experience.
The 2017 nationwide award winners were selected by an independent jury of high-ranking representatives from science and industry. Among them was Dr Hanno Hagemann, Managing Partner of DS Produkte GmbH, who invests in promising start-ups together with his business partner Ralf Dümmel, known from the TV show "Höhle der Löwen". Hanno Hagemann was enthusiastic about the variety of ideas submitted and the great potential for innovation at the universities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and gave important impulses for the successful launch of an innovative company in the digital age in his keynote speech.

Inspired by the keynote speech, the competition finalists presented their ideas in exactly 30 seconds and impressed the audience with their creativity and wealth of ideas.
The 2017 winners
The top three teams in the "Students" and "Researchers & Graduates" categories received bonuses and non-cash prizes totalling EUR 35,000. A certificate signed by all rectors in MV was also presented. The trophy was customised by the Rostock start-up company "Duschkraft" using a 3D printer.
First place in the "Students" category went to Master's students of Geodesy and Geoinformatics Marten Jeschky and Uwe Köster from the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences with their idea "Emocloud". They have set themselves the goal of significantly improving the monitoring of energy systems. Daniel Franz's third place with his idea "KiTa-Bus" is particularly positive from a Neubrandenburg perspective.
First place in the "Researchers & Graduates" category went to medical scientist Konstantin Altrichter, industrial engineer Karl Hartmann and physicist Paul Lückemann from the University of Rostock with their innovative "DaisyGrip" tourniquet.
In addition, Antenne MV donated a media budget for an advertising campaign on Antenne MV worth €5,000. Robert Weber, Managing Director of Antenne MV, presented the special prize to Rostock history student Tommy Jark, who wants to offer educational and entertaining guided tours in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with his tourism idea "Festungstouren MV".
