You can obtain the supervision agreement from your supervising professor at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. Among other things, it sets out the timetable, supervisors, milestones and the topic of your doctorate. The agreement must be set out in writing when you register for your doctorate.
This depends on your status:
As a researchassistant, you are considered to be employed and subject to social security contributions.
As a scholarship holder, you are generally not automatically covered by health or pension insurance. In this case, you must take out voluntary insurance.
If you are enrolled as a student, student regulations may apply. Seek individual advice from your health insurance provider at an early stage.
Income during the doctorate - e.g. from employment or third-party funding - is generally taxable. Scholarships, on the other hand, are usually tax-free if they serve to promote academic qualifications. Doctoral costs (e.g. specialist literature, conferences) can be claimed for tax purposes under certain conditions. It is best to speak to a tax advisor about this.
What does "cooperative doctorate" mean at the HSNB?
In a cooperative doctorate, you will work closely with a professor at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences and a university that has the right to award doctorates. You will be supervised jointly - your dissertation will be submitted to the university and defended there.
Doctoral projects at the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences must be documented by the supervisor at the beginning. Please use the corresponding registration form and send it - together with a copy of the confirmation of supervision - to the Graduate Forum and, if applicable, to the Registrar's Office.
