Vocational Teaching for Health Professionals, B.A.

Bachelor of Arts, seven semesters.

The Bachelor in Vocational Teaching for Health Professionals offers students a teaching course that links specialist scientific knowledge from health and nursing as well as psychology and preventive medicine with the associated principles of specialist teaching.

The course is thus based on the established structure of teacher training courses in the area of vocational teaching. The basic model incorporates the regulations in the teacher training law of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as well as national regulations of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The course provides the initial academic qualification as an entry degree into the teaching profession in specialist vocational teaching and can be continued with a 3-semester Master’s programme at the University of Rostock and subsequent practical training.

Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree can also work within the practical specialist teaching in vocational colleges, in specialised professional development and further education or as specialised clinical supervisors. Throughout the Vocational Teaching for Health Professionals course, students can specialise and deepen their knowledge by selecting core competencies and compulsory elective modules.
