The Master of Management in Social Services and Healthcare is a postgraduate programme for specialising in management and business areas and postgraduate academic studies in the area of healthcare and social services.
The course prepares students for taking on highly qualified specialist and management tasks in the economically important market of social and healthcare related services and organisations. Possible employment opportunities include in the area of organisation and management of inpatient facilities such as hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, aged care and nursing homes and disabled care centres as well as in outpatient facilities, youth and social welfare offices and health insurance funds. Subsequent areas of employment also include finance management, controlling and marketing or even quality and project management.
To this end, topics such as public management, welfare and administrative law, finance management, controlling and marketing are taught during the programme. All teaching sessions conclude with examinations during the course. A greater focus on a specific area is possible by students’ choice of compulsory elective modules, a three-semester research project and the Master’s programme that is completed in the fourth semester.
